One aerial tramway – three records
Lift typeAerial tramway
Unhindered views and individual design are the hallmarks of the cutting-edge tramway up to the Zugspitze.
The new aerial tramway up to the Zugspitze went into service just before Christmas 2017. Since then, two cabins have carried hikers, sports practitioners and snow fans up to Germany’s highest peak. The installation broke three records: The ropeway has the longest unsupported rope span, the tallest steel tower and the biggest vertical rise. And thanks to the floor-to-roof glazing of the KRONOS CABINS, passengers can enjoy unhindered vistas of the Wetterstein mountains during the trip.
