New cabins in the Olten look for Verbier
In July 2009, CWA Constructions SA/Corp. of Olten supplied two big aerial tramway cars to Verbier. The two new jigback cabins with a capacity of 125+1 persons each are a wholly new design. The cabins are for the big 4 Vallées ski area comprising the resorts of Verbier-La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon, where over 900 CWA cabins have been in successful operation since 1970. The Telenendaz company is providing 50 percent of the finance for the new ropeway.
CWA's loyal customer was immediately convinced by the advantages of the new KRONOS aerial tramway cabin. Next winter, passengers will be able to enjoy the ride from Tortin (2050 m) to Col des Gentianes (2950 m) in the new CWA cabins. Swiss quality, modern technology and long years of experience explain CWA's unique position as a specialist in the manufacture of rope-hauled and track-based vehicles.
KRONOS is the name of the new reversible cabin from Olten, which comes in CWA's usual outstanding design and finish. With its clean lines and colors plus state-of-the-art engineering, the KRONOS is the new benchmark for aerial tramway cabins. From the laminated safety glazing and comfortable seats to the ergonomic operating panel and the lighting and public address systems – all that is part of a range of fittings and equipment that leaves nothing to be desired.
Work starts soon on production of two more KRONOS cabins for Verbier. In May 2010, CWA will be delivering two cabins for 45+1 persons for the Mont Fort II jigback.
